Dublin’s first shoe shop for women’s size 8+ shoes!

Update 28 Feb 2009: I’ve launched a website dedicated to ladies with larger shoe sizes. Visit the forum now and share your favourite shoe shops, or ask where you can find shoes in your size near you at PrettyBigShoes.net.

Cinderella Shoes have opened a shop in the Stephen’s Green Shopping Centre within the last couple of weeks. This shoe shop only stocks ladies shoes in larger sizes from size 8 to 12. I have blogged before about the lack of Irish shoe shops stocking any big sizes, so this is very big news for me!

The shop is located on the top floor of the shopping centre. It is painted purple and is beside the black Wrestling Mania shop, about half way down the same side as The Laptop Shop (the opposite side to the art gallery and toilets).

Cinderella Shoes opened a concession in Arnotts a few years ago, but whenever I visited, all I found was a couple of small shelves right at the back of their massive shoe department. So, I am thrilled to see a proper shop at long last dedicated solely to ladies with large feet (sorry about the pun there!). I dropped in last weekend to have a look and enjoyed the novelty of just being able to pick up shoes on the shelves and put my foot straight into them. My size 9 foot is extremely wide, and I was even able to even get into a couple of size 8s. They still have some Winter styles on sale, mainly boots, with knee high boots for only 60 euro in some cases. The Spring/Summer stock is arriving daily at the moment, and there were already some colourful sandals in the shop when I visited. They also stock a lot of more formal evening shoes, which is the trickiest type to find in large sizes.

Before you start hyperventilating, you won’t see anything Manolo-esque there and it’s not exactly Faith or Office either. Nevertheless, when you struggle to find even one shoe in your size in most other Dublin shoe shops, you should still feel like me in a sweet shop here. It’s one small step for mankind, but one giant leap forward for Dublin women blessed with big feet. Hopefully the Cinderella Shoes store will get plenty of promotion ensuring that they finally have a shop where they can find shoes to fit them.

just posted in your other spot and saw this. so at the risk of repeating myself… i do know cinderella shoes. i have purchased from them before. check out http://www.barefoottess.com better shoes and with the devalued dollar.. you can get them in ireland for less than cinderella shoes…even with shipping. i do agree that you cant go into a store and try them on which is great.. but i write to the sales online at sales@barefoottess.com and they answer my size questions before they ship!

I visited the Cinderella shop in Stephens Green Centre, Dublin recently. While most of the shoes are aimed at the ‘more mature’ lady, it’s great to be able to try on lots of shoes that will actually fit! I picked up two pairs, a very funky Italian style red pair of 3.5 inch heels for E180 (a lot, I know!) and another useful pair of navy heels which were a steal at E25 (last pair in stock). The shop assistant was very helpful and willing to listen to feedback. The owner (Gina) travels regularly to Italy where the best (most stylish) shoes seem to come from, so I did give some customer feedback to move away from the boring styles and more into the funkier, modern styles. Hope this works!

The Cinderella shoes website is useful (very repetitive though as they put the same shoe into multiple categories). If you contact them, eg by email, they will send you updates of their travelling roadshows around Ireland (Cork, Galway, etc) which they do a few times a year…if you do go, go early to make sure you get your size…I guess if you figured out from the website what you wanted, you could probably contact them and ask them to keep shoes for you. This would avoid postage and returning goods, which is always a gamble with shoes.

    Happy shoe shopping!

Hi I have just opened a shoe boutique in Naas Co. Kildare, Ireland, called FiFi Belle which specialises in Fashionable Larger Ladies Shoes Sizes 8-11.

As well as having the shoe boutique we aim to bring these beautiful shoes direct to you in the convienence of your home via our website which is launching at the end of Oct.

The company was born out of my own frustration at being unable to buy ‘fashionable’ shoes for my size 9 feet. My dissatisfaction at not been able to find a shop or website which stocked fashionable shoes in larger sizes in Ireland along with hearing stories from other people who had similar problems led to the birth of FiFi Belle.

Tried shopping online with FiFi Belle, but not possible. Not a good idea to anounce website is going online if it doesn’t work! Footwear looks great though..at last large style that makes a statement!

I also tried to get on to the fifi belle site to no avail. There 8 is only a 41 too which is not a true 8. 42 is a true 8. I think Cinderella Shoes have improved dramatically. Their spanish range is to die for even if it is expensive. Love the roadshows too, went to my first one last year. Got some fabulous boots and the girls in the office are sooo helpful.

I have tried numerous times to order with fifibel. I have never sucessfully been able to and I am dubious as the sizing is not quite right. Ladies we all know an 8 is a 42 not a 41!!! you cant search by size, the site never seems to work right and the one time i did manage to find a pair in my size i had to register and then wait to be approved! this is time consuming to say the least.
