aww that's nice :) i should warn you though, although i originally planned a tech blog, it has not turned out like that, probably because i'm so out of my depth - it's mainly silly local irish stuff and shopping but i'll try and do a few more web dev ones i promise. :)

Nah, your coding's fine, and I love your blog design. Thanks for the insight. You've got a new RSS customer.

LOL that's ok Matt - think my rigid design is more at fault :) I hope you don't mind me renaming your link text to conceal my dodgy coding!

Thanks for letting me know about the workaround. I do tend to find that the gateway issue happens in bunches though i.e. when it strikes, it can take a bit to come back up again (15-30 minutes?). And since I figure the failures must use up your API keys, that could be an issue! :)

hi matt,

well the main problem resolved itself for us early in january as i reported above, but i think everyone suffers a few bad gateways here and there - rather annoying! it would be nice if google gave the good old api some tlc to let it catch up with all their groovy new toys :)

I'm the webmaster for the "Website" link above... I get the same problem intermittently with our Google API search. Came across your blog while Googling the problem (ironically?). Argh!
