New Topshop Dublin
I heard an interview on Spin last weekend with a lady from Topshop HQ about the new flagship Dublin store. It will open this Friday (11 November) on St Stephen’s Green in the large building formerly occupied by Habitat and it promises to be 3 floors of shopping heaven!
The new Topshop store will include a personal shopping service with super swanky changing rooms and style advisors, and a designer section which will feature up and coming Irish designers. The most novel concept is the introduction of their Topshop To Go service, which is only available in a couple of stores outside Topshop central at Oxford Circus, London. With Topshop To Go, you can just ring them up with info on your style likes and dislikes and the occasion you need an outfit for, and they will come straight round to your home or work (within a 9 mile radius I think) with a car full of clothes!
There is no charge for this service. You just pay for the clothes. To be honest, if I ever made use of it, I think I would end up buying an outfit even if I hated all the clothes just to avoid major embarrassment!
As you may have gathered, I’m rather excited by this welcome addition to the Dublin shopping scene. For those more interested in architecture than retail therapy, they are supposed to have restored the building to its former glory and produced a one of a kind shop, so even if you don’t want to buy anything it might be worth dropping by…
All I’m hoping for is a funky winter coat. ![]()

If they’ve waiting rooms for men that don’t like shopping. Somewhere they can sit down and read a paper and have a cuppa - that’d be good.

I was bored and playing with Google. Thought you’d find it *mildly* interesting that your page comes up first when you query “wysiwyg -editor -software”
Wow. Aren’t you excited. I know I am.
Cheers.

i think the must be having a special opening tonight also. for the chosen invitees. there seemed to be bouncers outside, special lighting and people who looked like model types going in and out. then again, maybe they were just the models rehearsing. i don’t really know!

I went to the new topshop yesterday and it really is brill… I needed help findin new jeans and they were more then willing to help… It’s a really nice building/layout too! although i think the best thing bout it ystrdy was the fact that they had a professional designer who you could go to with your new underwear and he’d personalise them for you…for free.. Was so tempted but there was a que… grr… :-p

Re: the waiting rooms for men who don’t like shopping.
I hate shopping also. I think I’d spend my entire shopping trip in there drinking hot mocha.
Why do some people insist upon bringing their unwilling other half shopping. I’d never inflict that on someone. I hate it too much myself.
