fox rocks
After a few false starts, I’ve really got into Firefox lately. With 25 million downloads of the new browser in just 99 days, I’m a bit slow to catch on but better late than never.
Being the queen of 25 open windows, tabbed browsing is a lifesaver! The tabbrowser preferences extension makes surfing even sweeter.
I love its extensibility. Already, I’ve got a fantastic web developer toolbar, a colour picker and can automatically copy text to the clipboard.
The other big advantage for me is the smart keywords feature. You can associate a keyword with any bookmark, and then access that site by just typing its keyword. This is particularly handy for searching. Bookmark a site search and you can usually do that search in future just by entering that bookmark’s keyword before your search terms in the address bar.
I have found a few niggles. I’m missing the form filling features of the google toolbar but I hope that I can find an alternative. Also, a couple of sites I visit regularly do not work in Firefox. I realise that this is the fault of the sites themselves, but it does mean that I have to rely on Internet Explorer for a while yet. However, my view page in IE extension even makes that as painless as possible. ![]()
