Elemis Beauty Products – Expensive but Excellent
In the past few months I have discovered Elemis skin care products, thanks to the strangely addictive shopping channel QVC. It is a range that is normally only available in premium spas around the world. They have recently started to branch out into retail and there is now an Elemis counter and some spa treatments available in Debenhams in London and here in Ireland at the Harvey Nichols store in Dundrum.
I don’t usually get taken in by all these miracle cream claims and am pretty low maintenance, but I was so impressed by the presentation given by QVC’s resident Elemis therapist Keeley that I decided to give it a go. (The great thing about buying from QVC is that there is a 30 day no quibble money back guarantee regardless of how much you have used the creams! I have yet to actually avail of this though…)
Before taking the plunge I did some research online, and I registered at the Elemis Time to Spa online store. When you sign up, they send you 2 x 3ml samples of their Pro-Collagen Marine Cream moisturiser and their Papaya Enzyme Peel exfoliator. They are tiny samples but amazingly you get a few applications out of each and it enables you to make your mind up for free. They also offer you an online consultation with an Elemis spa consultant who will recommend products for your needs and give you 15% off your first order.
Elemis products are expensive. The Pro-Collagen Marine Cream is particularly pricey. A 50ml jar costs €124 in Harvey Nichols!!! However, clever clickers can save online by buying kits at QVC or trying their luck at Ebay. Unfortunately for my bank balance, I loved both product samples and have tried several others since and am now an Elemis addict! I have managed to limit myself to the skin care products so far, but they also do bathing, aromatherapy and men’s ranges.
I had suffered from dreadful dry skin for ages, despite also suffering from acne. Before the 3ml sample of Marine Cream was used up, my dry skin was cured. I couldn’t believe it! Spots are still plaguing me, perhaps inevitably due to medication I’m on, but overall the condition of my skin is so much better. It is all subjective, but my skin feels much softer and looks much healthier. I will always be pale but the pallor of death has finally deserted me!
I’m not sure about the anti-ageing benefits. At the ripe old age of 25 and a half, I see fine lines appearing. They still look just the same to me after a few months of cleansing, toning and moisturising with Elemis products. On second thoughts, since the doorman at Keating’s swanky new church pub on Abbey Street doubted I was over 21 last night, maybe it is working wonders!
Mind you, it is probably all in my head. I gave my mum a small tube of my miracle cream to try. She handed it back to me a couple of days later, announcing that her €10 Oil of Olay moisturiser was much better. I only wish it worked for me!
In case anyone else out there wants to indulge, here are some handy links:
- Official Elemis site – general info on skin care, bathing, aromatherapy and men’s ranges
- Elemis online store – as far as I know, you still get a couple of free samples sent to you if you register
- Elemis brand shop at QVC – the kits here often offer some great value
- Elemis at Ebay – there is a big market for Elemis products at Ebay but not many great bargains from my experience
- Elemis on sale in Irish stores: there is an Elemis counter and spa service at Harvey Nicks, Dundrum and I think that Nue Bleu Eriu, South William Street also sell Elemis products. Thérapie on Molesworth Street definitely sell Elemis products as well as providing the beauty treatments, as does the High Maintenance Beauty Parlour in Donnybrook.

Lookie, lookie, colours, layout, theme. All new and shiny.
I’m not even going to go near your “oh-so-expensive” skin products, I don’t have enough cash to even visit the website

The Mammy raided Elemis for my christmas……………
I hope they’re bloody good because I know how expensive they are…to be honest, whilst I always use a top notch mosituriser (Roche Posay) I usually woldn’t be spending so much on body scrubbs and hand creams…
Sometimes i suspect the mammy uses me as a testing model!

i’m the same myself caoimhe… even only focusing on the basics (cleanser and moisturising) i’ve already spent *far* too much!
hope you enjoy your elemis goodies. have to say i got a small hand cream in my last kit and did not think much of it. any future hand creams will be going straight to ebay!
thanks fence – i’m only making a feeble attempt to keep up with your ever changing blog layout trends

42 male here and this product really is the bomb! Male or Female I think today everyone wants to look their best… Once you use it your hooked on the way your skin looks and feels but most importantly you will be shocked at how everyone else will notice…everyone has been asking me what have i done so diffrent i look so young…Since I have used these products I can honestly say that my skin is in much better condition and the fine lines do seem to be much less visible than before…+ you really do only have to use a very small amount …so it last longer ..yes it is expensive but if you figure the price of some products 50 to 70 buck and they last a mo…i bought mine on a cruise after a spa faical that was over 6 mos ago…

I have suffered acne for the past 2 years and the scar never seems to go away. I have bought a trail pack of the elemis tri-enzyme which include resurfacing facial wash, essence and a night cream. I have been using it for more than a month now and the scar is definitely disappearing fast.
November 13th, 2006 at 12:29 pm
Great news Ching! I want to give the tri-enzyme regime a go too, but it is very expensive! Where did you get the trial pack – QVC? Ebay?

I bought the Elemis bath salts and oil in the cellulite reduction line last year on a spa visit while on a cruise ship. Remodelling my house has taken too long and I have not had a bath tub ( only a shower) in which to use the products. I did try one and found that it seemed to show some results: my thighs seemed much smoother and it may have increased elimination. However, my local healthfood store tells me that it is mostly epsom salts and some natural herbs which could be easily blended without all the cost. Anyone care to comment? Anyone know much about this cellulite treatment process? The Elemis products I purchased cost me $600.+ US and were enough to last me 4 months. (Over a year if you don’t have a bath tub!!)

I haven’t bought any of the Elemis products but after reading a couple of your reviews and seeing the results I got from a facial, I might just give it a try. I found out about Elemis beauty products from the facial lady on my cruise last week. She examined my face and recommended a daily skin care routine using Elemis products. After the facial, I was in awe about the way my face felt, so soft and smooth (and it still is). I was very surprised with the price of the products but I am convienced that they are so worth it. I have tried many different beauty products and none of them have made my face look and feel amazing like Elemis.

I used an elemis shampoo and conditioner at center parcs in the aqua sana and it was bloody brilliant! I tried to buy it there but guess what, they dont sell it to the clients! not to be outdone I thought I’d scour the web only to find its not listed anywhere.. what is going on? I’m willing the pay the high price that I know it will be, its a good product so does anyone know the answer to this problem?
June 30th, 2007 at 1:51 pm
This is my exact experience also! I came across this website looking (in vain) for Elemis shampoo and conditioner. The Spa I was at recently advises Elemis do not sell either. Truly bizarre. C’mon Elemis, get your act together!

promo update! Now you can choose the samples you want to get on timetospa.com. I have a bunch of those little tubes lying everywhere at home. They also have free shipping in Aug -
September 28th, 2007 at 11:00 am
I regulary use salonskincare.com to order my elemis products, due to the free postage and also if you spend over certain amounts eg £50, £100 you get various free gifts, usually a few items of 15ml or 50ml sizes. Myself and a few others now use the elemis eye serum and eye mask, absolutely fantastic products for reducing those dark circles and crepeiness!

Has anyone tried the detox regime please? Any results? We are doing it at the moment – having bought while on a cruise ship.
October 1st, 2007 at 2:43 pm
I had the bath on a cruise last month and had some problems with “elimination.” I understand the oil is supposed to give you external AND internal cleansing, but I can’t find anything about it besides that. Anybody know about it? My skin was great after the bath though.

October 23rd, 2007 at 5:08 am
I am interested in Elemis. Had a guy talk to me about it on a cruise last week. Sounded really interesting but the price was too expensive. If anyone has anymore knowledge about the detox please let me know. I am ready to get started if this stuff really does work.
January 8th, 2008 at 7:03 am
I too learned about the elemis internal detox product while cruising, but couldn’t wrap my brain around the price, especially not knowing if it was just hype or would really work. Thanks for feedback from those who have used it. For those interested in purchasing it, the least expensive place I could find to buy it so far was via ebay. Please more feedback from users of the product…anyone with poor results

hi
Just bought the detox, started yesterday…I’m a little disapointed with the food info for the detox. I know the lady said to stay away from food chemicals, also diet sweetners. She encouraged alkaline foods but didn’t give us much direction on what exactly to eat. If someone has done the detox with results please post what changes you made in your diet!
thanks so much!

purchased eye mask and marine cream on cruise. They guarantee results from the eye cream in one week. I noticed results after only two applications of the cream. Those dark circles are outta there! The marine cream feels much better on my skin than what I was using. This means alot living in MD where winters can be a bit tough on the skin. Expensive, but worth it!!
June 2nd, 2008 at 3:47 pm
I purchased the dextox but have not started yet. Please share your results if anyone else has done it
August 3rd, 2008 at 8:49 am
unbelievable effect! i bought Pro callagen quartz lift mask, pro collagen marine cream, and few years I ve suffered of loss of elasticity of the skin on my neck. the result in one night! totally worth! and as i was told mask&cream will last up to 10 months, it is not so expensive, huh.

August 28th, 2008 at 2:32 pm
I too purchaed the detox program after extensive research of the ingredients, ordered for 308 off of their web page– and no directions???? Any advice let me know
September 3rd, 2008 at 10:32 pm
Bathroom finished and I tried my Elemis Detox bath salts and oil….not exactly the results I was hoping for..probably could have had the same results with a bath oil. Exceptionally expensive product. Sounds like I should beware of that guy on the cruise ship too! He sold it to me and disappeared from the ship next day…little to no instruction or support. Claims that the stars all use it with great results, guess they get the in-house treatments.
Also bought the Elemis toner and the plasitc bottle shattered like it was crystal when it fell about 50 cm (20 inches) another waste of money.
I think from now on I’ll try my luck in the casino instead of the spa and salon!

In my eighth month of the detox (of nine). I have to say I really see no difference. In fact I have gained about 15 pounds. So disappointing.

Having tried everything and I mean everything to get rid of my very nasty rosacea ( basically a redding of the skin on cheeks , nose and red unsightly spots) a friend took me for an Elemis facial, although sceptical the result after was astonishing. ELemis do not test on animals and the range although costing a little more than what I would normally spend , has turned out to be my best investment ever. I use the gentle face wash , which smells amazing and it is so gentle but removes my make up effortlessly. Not drying at all on the skin, I follow with the shine control moisturiser and a liitle liquid layer SPF 30 . I also use the papaya enzyme mask 2 weekly as it is a no scrub just melt off the dead skin formula. I limit having to “scrub ” my face with harsher exfoliants and thus lessening the redness .. Absolutely staggering differnce. I can now look my fiancé in the eye at 7 am and not run to the bathroom to put on concealer. I absolutely urge anyone to try it, it is amazing stuff. Also I changed foundation and am now using one rec by a friend. It’s from the GOSH range and it doesn’t give me breakouts woo hoo . Double whammy ohh and try the giant sun powder over it for flawless glowing summer skin .. X
